Our moods are also gift from a loving Creator who has equipped us to understand our surroundings, our interactions with others, and our own selves. The prayers in this book are samples of the many ways one might engage with the Transcendent in a loving relationship that ask us to be ourselves and to come as we are.

Dr. Devoree Clifton Crist is a spiritual director, wife, and mother living in St. Louis, Missouri. She holds a Master's Degree in Theological Studies from Eden Theological Seminary, a Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Aquinas Institute of Theology, and a doctorate from Washington University School of Medicine. She is a member of Spiritual Directors International. She writes prayers and liturgies for Webster Groves Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she is a member. In addition to writing, she enjoys photography, painting, and music.
